Our Story
Ed Rietman and Jeff Kolean founded K&R in 1989. Ed and Jeff began by buying one wrecked truck at a time to rebuild and then resell it. In 1991, they bought a building on the corner of Interchange Drive and M40 in Holland, MI. In 1994, Ed bought out the business.
Eventually, Ed went on to expand K&R. He acquired a local wrecker service, a fully automated truck wash and detail shop and a brand-new facility in Holland. He broadened service offerings to include rebuilds, service, body shop, paint booth, frame rack, alignment, sales and a new and used parts department.
Ed’s business ventures didn’t stop there. In May 2012, he acquired an International Truck dealership with 3 locations in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Muskegon, MI, operating under the name West Michigan International. The West Michigan International brand further expanded in October 2018 with the acquisition of the International dealership in Lansing. Additionally, West Michigan Mobile Mechanic was also acquired around this time. The timeline showcases the company’s impressive growth over the past 30+ years.
